• Hand-wheel turns are fed through an electronic gearbox, and an advanced software control algorithm provides ultra-smooth operation over a very wide speed range. Variable gear ratios can be set between 99.0 to1 (hand-wheel turns to head drive) and 1 to 30.0 in 0.1 increments. Gear ratios can be set very quickly at the hand-wheel, using the hand-wheel itself as a rotary gear ratio control.
• Soft position limits can also be quickly set at the hand-wheels, allowing for instance, whip pans between two predefined points, with smooth deceleration to the limit points.
• The hand-wheels can be used without the Pocket PC when using the system purely for its gearing and soft limits capabilities. An LCD display shows head position, gearbox ratio setting, record/playback status etc. Two associated push buttons allow setting of gear ratios and position limits.
